Why I Rebuilt Debonair Beard Co. Around One Scent
Relaunching Debonair Beard Co. with just one scent — our signature Mister Debonair — was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made as a business owner.
Over the years, I created and offered a variety of beard care scents that connected with different people. I’ve had customers swear by their personal favorites, coming back time and time again. That kind of support means everything to me. So making the choice to step away from all the variety and focus on just one scent wasn’t easy.
But it was necessary.
The Turning Point
As the business began to grow, I started looking at what was truly working. Mister Debonair wasn’t just performing well — it was dominating. It consistently outsold the other fragrances. In fact, when I combined the sales of multiple other scents, Mister Debonair still came out on top.
That told me something important: this scent is the brand.
So I made the tough call to scale back, get laser focused, and build Debonair Beard Co. around what our customers love most.
Why Mister Debonair?
Mister Debonair is bold, smooth, and undeniably confident — just like the men who wear it. It has a refined edge that feels luxurious, without trying too hard. The feedback I’ve received over the years has been overwhelming: compliments, repeat orders, loyalty.

Less Confusion. More Clarity.
Behind the scenes, trying to keep up with 6 different products in 3 different sizes across 10–12 fragrances was overwhelming — especially as a growing business.
Inventory management became a full-time job. Ordering ingredients, restocking jars and bottles, trying to keep everything in stock — it was chaos.
By narrowing the focus to one scent and one standard size for each product, I’m able to:
Streamline production
Keep inventory stocked
Ship orders faster
Provide a more consistent customer experience
That means better service for everyone, and no more long wait times or “sold out” alerts.
The Fear of Falling Off
I won’t lie — this shift came with fear. Things slowed down a bit after the change, and I questioned if I made the right call. The thought of losing loyal customers who loved other scents kept me up at night.
But I had to remind myself: sometimes growth requires risk. And often, simplification is the smartest path to elevation.
